If you have one or more missing teeth, Dr. Baker may recommend a bridge to fill the gap. A bridge is a connection between two natural teeth, closing the gap to restore your smile and function.
A dental bridge is made up of two or more crowns, one on each tooth on either side of the gap(s). Connected to the crowns are the false teeth which fill in the spaces. A bridge is permanently cemented unlike removable partial dentures which are removable.
- Help correct bite issues
- Can improve your speech
- Stops surrounding teeth from moving out of position
- Can reduce your risk of gum disease resulting from spaces between teeth
Dr. Baker will will take an impression of your mouth and prepare the teeth in the first visit. A temporary bridge will be given to you to wear while your bridge is being made to protect your gums and teeth. In the second appointment, the bridge will be fitted and cemented to your teeth. Multiple visits may be required to check the fit of the metal framework and bite.
