If you have lost your natural teeth, dentures can restore you confidence and smile. Tooth loss can result from periodontal disease, tooth decay, or injury. It can cause sagging of facial muscles and make a person look much older than their natural age. Dentures can give you a perfect smile. Little change in your appearance will be noticeable because dentures are made to closely resemble your natural teeth.
Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue with an artificial substitute. Dr. Baker offers different types of dentures to address different types of oral issues.
The shape of the mouth changes quickly after tooth extraction. During the healing process gums, which will support dentures, shrink and change shape. Immediate dentures protect gum tissue and reducing discomfort to help your mouth to heal properly.
Immediate dentures are made before natural teeth are extracted. An immediate denture is inserted on the same day, immediately after tooth extraction. Duplicating the shape, color, and arrangement of natural teeth can be more accurate with some teeth still present in your mouth.
Partial dentures replace a few missing teeth, and are designed to correct the gaps in your smile. Partial dentures maintain tooth alignment by stopping your remaining teeth from shifting.
Full dentures replace all of your teeth in the upper or lower portion of your mouth.
