Accidents happen in sports and physical activity. A misdirected elbow in a game of one-on-one basketball or a falling off your bicycle can leave you with chipped or broken teeth. Dr. Baker encourages anyone participating in a contact sport to wear a mouth guard for protection.
A sport guard is a soft silicone dental appliance covering the teeth to soften force to the mouth, minimizing the risk of injury and broken teeth. A properly fitted sport guard is protective, comfortable, resilient, and causes little difficulty to talking and breathing.
- Protect the teeth from injury
- A professionally fitted sport guard is more effective and comfortable
Dr. Baker will take an impression of your mouth to ensure a proper fit. The sport guard takes 3-4 days to make. In a second appointment, Dr. Baker will fit the sport guard. Adjustments are done as needed.
A night guard is a hard plastic dental appliance worm at night to protect the teeth from grinding and jaw clenching.
